We started out our summer vacation with a trip to California. Ryan was in San Francisco for an Endocrine conference and I got to sneak away with him for a night! We had a blast being tourists in a city that we'd been to many times before, but never taken the time to see many of the sights. We ran across the Golden Gate Bridge and back, walked around Fisherman's Wharf, took in the view from Twin Peaks , and went to an amazing seafood dinner!

Our next stop was Carmel! I have never laughed so hard as I did when we went down to Monterey and rented this surrey with Ryan's parents. We all provided the pedal power and Ryan was the driver. However, keep in mind that Ryan is a "daredevil" when it comes to biking, so he took us off the path a few times and made us all scream in fear, as he was the only one with braking or steering power.

The final stop on this two week trip was Lake Tahoe, where we met up with my mom's family. This is by far the most serene, wonderful place to vacation! Here the girls are enjoying the beach at Sand Harbor.

The infamous "Flume Trail" in Lake Tahoe has become a tradition with this group! We decided to do it "out and back" this year, so it doubled the time of the ride and wore us all out. I have to thank my mom profusely for watching our kids for so long!

And yet another bike ride! This time along the Truckee River. Notice that the two little ones have both fallen asleep in the bike trailer.
